Staten Island Terminal

Staten Island Terminal LLC, 2537 Richmond Terrace, is developing a project to build a fully enclosed cement and dry aggregate distribution plant.

The project will:

  • relocate existing ready mix company
  • will have negative pressure eliminating “dust” conditions
  • improve major intersection
  • pave or landscape open areas
  • have no waste material generated
  • Create 125 jobs

COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT
Property frontage on Richmond Terrace (300’X15’) will be donated to the community to provide an east-west  left–hand turn lane on Richmond Terrace and Morningstar Road.

Frontage property line to be improved with a cast-dimensional stone wall in place of the current cyclone fence

ECONOMIC IMPACT

Provide easy access for the NYC ready-mix plants to obtain their cement supply.

Eliminate up to 440-mile round trip bulk truck deliveries of 25-30 tons of cement per truck
(from New Jersey and the Lehigh Valley).

The location and operation of this deep-water marine terminal will allow easy access to the concrete producers in Staten Island , Brooklyn , Queens, Bronx Long Island, Westchester and Northern New Jersey.

The Terminal construction will provide environmentally friendly operating equipment.

Provide a guaranteed supply of cement to the market by means of a partnership and supply agreement with Cementos Lima, the owner of one of the largest cement plants in the Americas, and a major cement exporter to the United States.

The cement will be delivered to the Terminal by bulk cargo ships (40,000 DWT)  At full operation there will be 25-30 ship landings per year. This represents an appreciable economic impact to the local community, since each ship will be in port up to four days per stay.
