Matt Bass is the Founder of Insight Media, a marketing and lead generation company that helps Staten Island businesses compete with national brands through strategic content, digital systems, and advertising. He focuses on empowering local businesses to grow, scale, and strengthen their presence while fostering connections among entrepreneurs, professionals, and business owners to build a stronger community. Born and raised on Staten Island, Matt is deeply committed to the borough’s economic growth. He mentors students in the Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!) through the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce and supports local charities and events, including organizing a large-scale holiday toy giveaway benefiting families in need. A Tottenville High School graduate and three-sport athlete, Matt continued his baseball career at Pace University and earned a Finance degree in 2021 from the Pforzheimer Honors College. Through Insight Media and personal initiatives, he combines business leadership with community engagement, consistently creating opportunities that positively impact Staten Island.

Matt Bass

Michael Blasco, MD, serves as director of head and neck oncology and reconstruction at Staten Island University Hospital, where he treats patients with throat and oral cancers, thyroid tumors, and complex skin lesions affecting the head and neck. He specializes in minimally invasive techniques, including transoral robotic-assisted surgery, and performs advanced reconstructive procedures to restore both function and appearance following tumor removal. His research focuses on improving surgical outcomes for oral cavity cancers and advancing methods for detecting lymph node metastases. Dr. Blasco emphasizes a shared decision-making approach, ensuring patients and their families are fully informed when considering treatment options. He earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine, completed his residency in otolaryngology at Wayne State University, and pursued fellowship training in head and neck surgical oncology and reconstruction at the University of Toronto. In addition to his clinical work, he collaborates with multidisciplinary teams across Northwell Health and serves as an assistant professor at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell.

Brittany Chadha, a North Shore Staten Island native, is a dedicated banking professional and community advocate. A graduate of Susan E. Wagner High School, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the College of Staten Island. Over the past 14 years, Brittany has built a successful career in financial services, currently serving as Vice President and Branch Manager of Northfield Bank’s Pleasant Plains office. In this role, she combines her expertise with a genuine passion for helping clients and supporting the Staten Island community. Brittany is actively involved in civic and professional organizations. She serves as Treasurer of HIC and Vice President of the Staten Island Business Council, supporting local business growth. She has also collaborated with Barayev Pediatric and Autism Warriors on the Staten Island Rising Star award ceremony and mentors College of Staten Island students through the alumni mentorship program, offering guidance in banking careers. As a wife and mother of two, including a child on the autism spectrum, Brittany’s volunteer work and advocacy are rooted in compassion and commitment. Her efforts reflect a deep dedication to giving back to Staten Island, the community she proudly calls home.

Katherine Ciaravino is a Staten Island native whose work is centered on community connection, relationship-building, and fostering growth. With a background in education, she brings a patient, people-first approach to every endeavor—whether guiding clients, supporting families, or collaborating within the community. Katherine is a licensed real estate professional with DiTommaso Real Estate, where she has helped numerous families buy and sell homes, earning a reputation for dedication, local expertise, and consistent results. She was recognized as a 2026 Top Producer and serves as the 2026 Vice President of the Staten Island Board of Realtors, reflecting her leadership and commitment to advancing the industry. She also serves as a Director for Emergency Children’s Help Organization (ECHO), supporting families in need and giving back to the community. A lifelong Staten Islander, James Clinton graduated summa cum laude from St. Francis College, earning his Bachelor's Degree in Political Science in 2018. After graduating college, James first worked as the Staten Island Field Director for former Congressman Max Rose's 2018 campaign for Congress. After their successful campaign, James worked in Rose's congressional office, specializing in local resiliency projects, social security, and the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund, helping to return over one million dollars back to Staten Island constituents. Under the leadership of then Chairman Michael Cusick, James served as the Staten Island Democratic Party's Executive Director for two years, assisting local campaigns and bolstering voter participation throughout the pandemic. For the past four years, James has served as Staten Island District Attorney Michael McMahon's Press Secretary and Community Liaison. In his dual role, James is responsible for directing media relations and serving as the primary spokesperson for the office, in addition to leading and establishing several crime prevention initiatives, including RCDA's Cash for Guns Initiative, Catalytic Converter Etching Program, and GLA Prevention Sign Campaign, all in an effort to help keep Staten Island safe.

Stephanie Coco, 32, is the proud owner of Steph’s Creativity Corner, which she has operated since October 2015. A graduate of St. John’s University with a degree in Early Childhood Education, she thoughtfully integrates her academic background into every aspect of her business, particularly when selecting educational toys for children of all ages. Stephanie is known for curating unique, one-of-a-kind items that inspire creativity and encourage imaginative play. With a lifelong passion for art, she has also found great fulfillment in helping parents choose meaningful gifts, making holidays and special occasions more enjoyable and stress-free. In addition to her retail work, Stephanie has established herself as a mural artist, a pursuit she began during the COVID-19 pandemic. Her artwork can be found in local businesses, sensory gyms, and playrooms throughout Staten Island, leaving a lasting creative imprint on the community. Deeply connected to Staten Island, Stephanie takes great pride in contributing to and representing the vibrant and supportive community she calls home.

Kelly Peterson serves as Front of House Manager at the St. George Theatre, where she plays a pivotal role in shaping the guest experience and overall operations. She joined the organization as a full-time employee in 2023 after distinguishing herself as one of its most dedicated and dependable volunteers, demonstrating a longstanding commitment to the theatre’s mission. Drawing on a strong hospitality background, Kelly leads with professionalism, warmth, and confidence. She oversees a team of more than 50 staff and volunteers, fostering a culture of collaboration, respect, and accountability. Highly organized and solutions-oriented, she is known for her ability to anticipate needs, manage complex operations, and resolve challenges efficiently and calmly. Kelly’s exceptional interpersonal skills enable her to build lasting relationships with patrons, performers, and colleagues alike. Nicole DelPrete

Nicole DelPrete, LMSW, is the Senior Associate Executive Director at Person Centered Care Services (PCCS). Since joining PCCS in 2014, she has held a range of roles from Direct Support Professional to executive leadership, shaping her deep commitment to supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Nicole focuses on strengthening organizations from the inside out — building teams, developing leaders, and driving thoughtful, sustainable growth. She is passionate about creating environments where both staff and the people supported can thrive. A graduate of the College of Staten Island, Nicole also serves as a part-time Adjunct Lecturer, where she shares her experience and inspires future social workers. She brings a strengths-based, big-picture approach to her work, always centering inclusion, connection, and meaningful impact.

Giacomo Di Pasquale, PhD, is an economist and Assistant Professor at Wagner College’s Nicolais School of Business, where he also directs the BRIDGE Research Lab. His research focuses on urban inequality, health disparities, and the ways local economic conditions shape lived experiences, particularly in Staten Island and New York City. Dr. Di Pasquale uses advanced quantitative methods and community-based data to study how structural inequalities impact real-world outcomes, including food insecurity, labor market instability, and public health disparities. His work highlights Staten Island’s internal economic divides and informs discussions on equitable growth and opportunity. Beyond academia, he leads applied research projects with local and national nonprofits—such as the YMCA—translating data into actionable insights for social impact. Through the BRIDGE Lab, he mentors students and collaborates with community institutions to develop evidence-based solutions that strengthen Staten Island’s economic and social fabric. Dr. Di Pasquale is dedicated to bridging research, policy, and practice to advance inclusive growth and improve quality of life.

Joseph Homsey

Joseph Homsey is a 13-year veteran of NYC Parks, bringing extensive experience in operations, community relations, and public service. He began his career as a Parks Enforcement Patrol officer and later served in the Natural Resources Group, where he was a senior member of the Stewardship Team. He also spent eight years supporting the Borough Commissioner, overseeing day-to-day park operations. As former Chief of Staff for Staten Island, Joe played a key role in all borough functions, including maintenance, recreation, beach and pool operations, and forestry services. In July 2025, he was appointed Staten Island Borough Commissioner, now overseeing nearly 7,700 acres of parkland. He focuses on system improvements, volunteer engagement, and ensuring equitable access to open space. Joe works closely with community boards, civic groups, and elected officials to strengthen partnerships and enhance services. An Eagle Scout, he remains active in scouting and enjoys spending time outdoors with his children, Parker and Willow.

Brittany Marcinek, LMSW, a lifelong Staten Islander, is Assistant Vice President of Development at Richmond University Medical Center (RUMC), where she is a dedicated advocate for strengthening healthcare across the borough. With over a decade of experience, she brings a mission-driven approach spanning development, population health, social work, and performance improvement, focused on expanding access, advancing equity, and improving outcomes. At RUMC, Brittany has helped secure more than $100 million in capital and programmatic funding, supporting critical investments in infrastructure, clinical services, and community-based programs. She oversees the hospital’s grant portfolio, aligning resources with priorities that address health disparities and promote long-term sustainability. She also plays a key role in cultivating and stewarding strategic partnerships. Previously, Brittany held leadership roles at Staten Island Performing Provider System (SI PPS) and Mount Sinai Health System. She serves on the Board of Emma’s Place and co-chairs Nonprofit Staten Island’s Development Affinity Group. She also holds a Certificate in Health Care Strategy from Harvard Business School Online.

Hala Maroc is an Afro-Arab multimedia personality, entrepreneur, and community builder dedicated to redefining what success looks like for the next generation of creatives and founders. With over a decade of experience in marketing, media, and wellness, she has built a career at the intersection of culture, storytelling, and impact. She is the founder of Build A Dream Incubator, Staten Island’s only co-working space and wellness hub designed for entrepreneurs, remote workers, and community builders. Through her work, Hala champions the belief that entrepreneurs should work for themselves, not by themselves, creating spaces and programs that support both personal growth and business development. Her work has been featured across local media and partnerships, and she continues to collaborate with schools, organizations, and brands to expand access to opportunity and self expression. At the core of everything she builds is a simple philosophy: finding success through finding yourself.

Heather McCauley has helped keep Tekie Geek running smoothly and efficiently for the past 2.5 years, supporting the day-to-day operations of the IT and cybersecurity managed service provider. As Executive Assistant, she coordinates priorities, manages schedules and communication, and ensures projects stay on track so the team can remain focused and responsive. Her behind-the-scenes work plays a key role in maintaining consistency and delivering strong service to businesses across Staten Island. Outside of the office, Heather is equally dedicated to the community, volunteering with Meals on Wheels of Staten Island to support local seniors and residents in need. She is also involved with the FDNY Valor Awards Committee through the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce, contributing to efforts that honor those who serve and protect the borough.

Katherine Modena, known as Kat, is the Director of Programs for the GRACE Foundation of New York, bringing passion and leadership to creating meaningful opportunities for the individuals she serves. Beginning her career in 2016 as a Direct Support Professional (DSP), she has grown into a leader dedicated to high-quality, person-centered care. With a bachelor’s degree in psychology and training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Katherine develops innovative programs, strengthens community partnerships, and ensures services that empower individuals to thrive. She collaborates with organizations such as New Ventures, Eggers, and Meals on Wheels, and helped launch Grace Aromas with program participants, fostering creativity, independence, and success. Under her leadership, the Day Habilitation program’s capacity has increased by 80 percent, expanding access to essential services while maintaining strong connections with families built on trust and collaboration. Inspired by her partner Trey, children Sophia and Michael, and her parents, Katherine continues to advance program development with compassion, collaboration, and a commitment to helping every individual reach their fullest potential.

Anaise Morel currently serves as Vice President of Operations at Community Health Action of Staten Island (CHASI), where she provides strategic and operational leadership to programs serving historically marginalized communities. A mission-driven public health leader and equity advocate, she brings over 12 years of experience at CHASI, during which her work has significantly advanced HIV prevention, community health, and health equity on Staten Island and beyond. Anaise has held progressively senior roles within the organization, including Associate Vice President of HIV Prevention and Health Equity, where she led cross-functional teams, strengthened service delivery systems, and helped expand access to culturally responsive care. She is recognized for her ability to combine data-driven operations with a deep commitment to community empowerment, building sustainable systems that improve outcomes for individuals disproportionately impacted by HIV and other health disparities.

Matt Perez is Area Manager at Stop & Stor where he began his career in the self-storage industry in 2004 at the age of 17 while still in high school, starting as a part-time Customer Service Representative and working his way up through the ranks to his current leadership role. Known for his coaching, problem-solving, team building, and people-first approach, Matt is passionate about helping employees grow, motivating them to succeed, and creating an environment where they can perform at their best. Throughout his career, he has set multiple rental records, helped open new locations, and worked to improve performance metrics and bonus opportunities for employees. He also proudly participates each year in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk. Matt is honored to be recognized as a recipient of the 20 Under 40 award.

Antoun Sawires is a proud Staten Islander and graduate of Curtis High School and John Jay College of Criminal Justice, where he earned his degree in Computer Science and Cybersecurity. His background in technology and problem solving informs a practical, solutions-oriented approach to public service. As Deputy Chief of Staff to Majority Whip Kamillah M. Hanks, he plays an instrumental role in advancing the office’s work in constituent services, land use, and community development, including the North Shore Action Plan. Outside of work, he enjoys restoring old cars and spending time with friends and family.

Antoun Sawires

Sean Thatcher is a Lecturer in the Engineering and Environmental Sciences Department at CUNY College of Staten Island, where his work centers on teaching students how to analyze land surface processes to better analyze real-world environmental issues, including sustainability, climate resilience, and the relationship between people and place using field work and geographic information systems (GIS). In addition to his teaching at CSI, Sean serves with the GeoSPACE Field Program as the lead virtual instructor in one of the nation’s only accessible field programs, where he helps design and deliver inclusive field-based learning experiences that expand access to geoscience fieldwork for students with, and without, disabilities and others historically excluded from traditional fieldwork. These initiatives, along with his organization of co-curricular programs such as the Annual Earth and Environmental Science Speaker Series and GIS Day, at CSI have helped students identify critical workforce skills, build professional networks, and prepare for internships and careers both during their studies and after graduation.

Anthony serves as Vice President of Events for the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, where he leads the planning and execution of more than 200 events each year. In this role, he has spearheaded high-impact initiatives, most notably the Steel Across America project—a five-month, cross-country tour transporting a 22-foot piece of World Trade Center steel to commemorate the 25th anniversary of September 11th. The 36-city tour features stops at Major League Baseball stadiums and iconic national landmarks, including Mount Rushmore and the White House. Prior to joining the foundation, Anthony built a diverse career spanning entertainment and media, with roles at SiriusXM and Disney. He later served as Creative Director for the Friars Club in Manhattan, overseeing operations and producing events for distinguished figures such as Tony Bennett, Martin Scorsese, and Billy Crystal. A lifelong Staten Island resident, Anthony is a graduate of the College of Staten Island. He remains deeply engaged in the local arts community and is committed to expanding opportunities in performing and visual arts while supporting military members, first responders, and their families.

Ian Yanda serves as Chief of Staff to New York State Assemblyman Michael Tannousis, where he plays a central role in shaping legislative strategy, coordinating community engagement initiatives, and advancing policy priorities that support economic development and quality-of-life improvements across Staten Island. In this role, he works closely with state and local stakeholders during the New York State budget process to help secure critical investments for infrastructure, education, and neighborhood revitalization. A graduate of the CUNY Institute for State and Local Governance’s Kriegel Fellowship Program and holder of a Master of Public Administration degree from CUNY Baruch College, Ian has built a strong record of public service through legislative research, intergovernmental coordination, and civic engagement. Through his work, Ian remains committed to strengthening connections between government and the communities it serves while supporting initiatives that promote sustainable economic growth on Staten Island.
